About Section

I've been there.
I can help.

Things have a way of unfolding faster than we can see. I wasn't blind to it, but it wasn't all bad, right? Alcoholic blackouts, trauma, job losses and relationship strains. I hurt myself and I hurt everyone else in the process.

From detox to rehab to hundreds of support and therapy sessions. I was there, slowly learning to love myself again. And what did I learn?

Change takes patience, understanding, effort and commitment. Change takes a dedicated plan and push in the right direction. Change takes everything you have left and more. For me, the change took a care team of specialists to help me breakthrough.

I'm a different person now and I love what I do. I've spent a combined 4 years working in positions related to addictions, substance abuse and trauma.

Now I'm here, as a coach and part of your dedicated care team. A coach on your terms, when you need it most.

How we can help

Our online coaching is specific to addiction and trauma. We are experienced in helping clients navigate substance use including how to stop drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana or consuming cocaine, opiates or prescription drugs. We provide tools and strategies for overcoming trauma to live the life you want. Our coaching is accessible to anyone in Canada or around the world.

Recovery Coaching

Addictions aren't on your side, so who is? A Recovery Coach meets you where you are and when you need it. A recovery coach is a professionally trained support partner to help plan, guide, and provide honest feedback to improve your relationship with drugs and alcohol.

Trauma Coaching

What hurts us won't make us stronger without the right perspective. Trauma-informed recovery Coaching is the process of guiding one to look inward toward trauma and encourage the process of highlighting the effects of trauma in someone's life. It is about fostering empowerment, resiliency and the path forward.

K.W, Vancouver

"Colin helped ease me into framing my trauma differently. Establishing my own will to move forward with healthy habits and not running from discomfort has been a game changer in my life. He really is a fantastic coach."
  • What is the difference between a coach and a therapist?
A therapist can help you work on your past while addressing your mental health concerns. A coach helps in the present moment and in building a comprehensive plan moving forward. A coach can fit in with a pre-existing care team to work with a therapist or mental health professional. A coach does not replace a therapist but is an additional valued member of your professional team.
  • How do I know if I'm ready for an addiction recovery coach?
There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Do you feel ready for a coach? Some people opt into coaching quickly in their journey while others secure a coach further along their path. Some questions you can ask yourself are: Has my consumption increased and I'm having a hard time cutting back? Have I successfully stopped several times, but found it hard to stay sober? Are there things in my life that aren't working due to my consumption? Are my personal and working relationships in jeopardy? Am I having a difficultly moving forward? An addiction recovery coach can fit into your recovery plan no matter where you are in your journey. They can help break down your needs and help put together a plan that can include additional mental health support.
  • How much does a coach cost?
The cost of coaching can vary depending on the coach, experience and the market they serve. Bet On You provides one service option and can accommodate payment plan options. We offer a subscription-based model for $320/month. This includes 240 minutes of coaching that can be allocated into 30 or 60-minute sessions. This subscription requires no monthly commitment, though we find the best client results with ongoing support.
  • How do I choose a coach?
Choosing a coach is a big decision. The right coach can help streamline your journey and offer the right support when needed. We've put together an article here that provides more details on choosing the right coach.
  • Where and when do we meet?
Our services are offered online only via Google Meet or phone call. Sessions can be booked with our online calendar or via email/phone based on availability to meet your needs. You will receive an email confirmation when you book a time in the online calendar.
  • Will my benefits cover coaching costs?
Typically, our services are not covered by most extended healthcare benefits. Given this, we are unable to bill insurers directly. Coaching in North America is becoming more formal and institutionalized. We hope to see our services offered in extended healthcare plans soon.
